Everyone knows the nations top story this week about how a teenage boy killed eight and then himself in a mall shooting. Many of the mall goers were woefully unprepared to deal with the threat of the gunman.

Now, if we're being targeted by, say, a lone gunman bent on taking out as many people as he (yes, he and only he) can before sticking the muzzle in his mouth and finally giving himself the sweet release of death he's wanted ever since he saw his mom fucking his stepdad ten years ago, what would you say we do?

Well, the gunman is there, and you are close to him. Studies show when someone is far away from someone with a gun, the gunman is less likely to hit said person.

Well, what about those of us rooted to the spot from fear or the large amount of shit we have deposited into our pants? What about us everyday Joes who can't "run?"
Well, instead of standing out in the open maybe you could hide behind a wall, or pose as a naked mannequin.

But never under any circumstances should you run onto the barrel of the gun, it almost never works.
